Val Verde Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to expand our Hospice program. Our program has been serving Val Verde County as the only local nonprofit Hospice since 1994. General Overview: The Hospice Nurse plans, coordinates, provides and documents a plan of care for terminally ill patients from day of admission through day of discharge. Utilizing physicians’ orders and professional skills, the Hospice Nurse develops and implements a hospice plan that meets each patient’s specific needs and is in compliance with Federal and State regulations, reimbursement guidelines as well as the organization’s policies and procedures. The Hospice Nurse will work under the guidance of a Director with over 20 years of combined nursing, legal and leadership experience in a variety of Hospice settings.
Requirements to Apply: Successful completion of ADN or BSN program. Current BCLS certification. Registered Nurse in State of Texas or Compact State. One year of home health care experience OR Hospice experience. Must have reliable transportation and valid State Driver's License in good standing.
Schedule: Mon - Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nurses have scheduled on call shifts once a week and one weekend a month.
Compensation: We offer aggressive compensation packages and sign on bonus/relocation allowance for qualified applicants. Our Hospice Nurses receive paid call and work within a reasonable travel radius of 30 miles. While on call, nurses will receive compensation for visits and admissions. Mileage is paid using the IRS guidelines for reimbursement.
