Position Overview:  

The Cardiac Cath Lab Technician- Certified plays multiple roles on the Cardiac Cath Lab team as the Cardiovascular technician or the Hemodynamic Recorder during Cardiac Catheterization procedures. In both roles he/she demonstrates technical proficiency in all Cardiac Cath Lab procedures and equipment; applies anatomical and physiological knowledge to proficiently assist the Cardiologist or Radiologist with providing cardiac patient care. As the Hemodynamic Recorder, he/she maintains good communication with the Cath Lab team to ensure proper equipment set up, accurate monitoring, and quality data collection.

Requirements to Apply:

Minimum License, Certificates, or Registrations Required:

A. New hires as of 06/01/2013 must have ONE of the below listed certifications:

B. Current certification eligible Cath Lab Technicians hired prior to 6/1/2013 must:

1. Submit application for certification by 6/30/2013 AND obtain ONE of the below listed certifications by 9/1/2013:

a)  ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)

b)  RCIS (Registered Cardiac Invasive Specialist) from CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International)

c)  ACLS/BLS must be attained prior to hiring. 

Education and Experience: ALL of the following:

1) High School Graduate.

2) New hires as of 06/01/2013 have to have ONE of the following:

A. Two (2) years full-time Invasive Cardiovascular Technology experience

B. An Associate Degree in Radiology, science, natural science, engineering, or any primary science or higher AND one (1) year (full-time or full-time equivalent) in Invasive Cardiovascular Technology.

C. Baccalaureate degree in health, science, natural science, nursing,

Engineering, or any primary science AND six (6) months (full-time or full-time equivalent) in Invasive Cardiovascular Technology.
