General Description:
General duties include scheduling patients, preparing equipments, prepping and positioning patients for an ultrasound exam. Reading information and reporting findings to a radiologist and/or cardiologist. Taking and producing images for diagnosis.
Specific Responsibilities:
Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify and record appropriate anatomical, pathological and diagnostic images. Use and operate complex ultrasound equipment. Selects appropriate equipment and transducer frequency/size for proper examination. Recognize the significance of all structures visualized on the monitor and is able to differentiate normal from abnormal and recognize artifacts. Understands situations when seeking advice is needed. Follows protocols and is able to deviate from normal techniques when clinically necessary. Prepares a summary of technical findings and reviews such findings with technical director/supervisor and/or interpreting physician.
Entry Level Qualifications to Apply:
High School Diploma
Certified CV Tech or equivalent combination of education and experience
BCLS and ACLS Certification
Able to stand for 2-3 hours while wearing lead apron
